Durability of high-performance self-compacted concrete using electric arc furnace slag aggregate and cupola slag powder

The current trend in the development of self-compacting concrete with sustainable construction materials has served as a guide to design novel concrete, siderurgical by-products (steel slag aggregates and cupola powder supplementary cementing material) that also meets demands high-performance concrete. This research sets out clarify unknown behavior its durability, which is ability withstand any process tends deteriorate it. In order assess durability this eco-friendly three control mixes were manufactured same high-quality coarse aggregate (diabase) different fines, limestone filler, fly ash powder. All mixtures subjected tests, results demonstrate steel shows an excellent response against carbonation, slightly lower thermal shock cycles, similar drying shrinkage superior action freezing-thawing cycles abrasion wear comparison mixes.
